Desi Can’t…

…tolerate the dryness of winter. I can understand the absolute lack of humidity in a place like Urbana-Champaign. In fact, over the course of 3 years, I joyfully made my peace with the complete absence of anything in that general area. However, Boston has the frickin’ Atlantic straddling its coast. In addition to The Pond, [...]

Cheen Reaction

There’s a free radical,
Unconfined by earthly shackle,
Pops up and down,
A bloody lavender clown.
Tall and skinny she be,
And only torso she can see,
Which she shakes and rattles,
Immersed in invisibleĀ  battles.
She is chemically chlorine,
And physically neoprene,
She is kinetically hyper,
Like a rainforest viper.
Her mass barely keeps her alive,
35.5 is all she needs to survive,
With the frequent chocolate and [...]

My favorite topic: ME! Thank you FB.
Rules of the game: Check if your name is at the end of this blog post. If so, type out a similar blog copy-pasting these rules. After that, list down 10 random things about yourself (that many do not know) and then tag 5 more people who have to [...]

Quirks

Have been forced to do this by Rahul. If only there was some way to get out of a tag…

Face on a Wall

Tear…
What tragedy could cause
Such uncontrollable grief?
Adhere…
This angelic face of yours,
Glistens as a dew-dropped leaf.
Dear…
A loss stinging with permanence,
Parent, sibling or child?
Fear…
Eternity ringing with fragments,
And alternative scenarios gone wild
Steer…
Those projectiles of vile hatred,
Man navigated from heaven,
Sear…
The skies alive, the earth dead,
From days one through seven.
Jeer…
Maggots that deserve death,
Calculated collateral damage,
Cheer…
The extinguishing of human breath,
Through divinely-inspired carnage.
Spear…
Innocent [...]

Gaaaah….za!*

Today evening at four,
A radical allure,
Chomsky, Noam,
Is set to show ‘em,
Middle Eastern lore.
Alas!
Attendance, a whim fleeting,
Not due to low-capacity seating,
You may ask, “Whazza?
No interest in Gaza?”
Silly hillbilly Group Meeting!

*To the originator of this expression of extreme irritation: You are welcome for the free publicity provided by the rep of the poet and this site.

Solidude

After a series of golden-oldie poems, it’s probably time for a creative revolution. I’ve been trying to absorb a thoroughly dense paper for what seems like eternity; some brainless timepass is desperately needed to flush out those neural pathways. Often have I broached upon my general disgust for most human-like bipeds. The emergence of this [...]

Reclaiming PaLOSTine

I
led a peaceful existence,
Was not a thorn in anyone’s side,
Lived in blissful ignorance
Of powers that, my future, decide.
*
We
Were caring neighbours,
Did not bother about religion – Islam or Judaism,
Never considered each other as traitors,
When on us was stamped the brand of terrorism.
*
They
Are too mighty to retaliate against,
Stole our land, butchered our tribe,
Confine us within ghettos, fenced,
And [...]
